    Default Moultrie

Well I was limited on what I could spend this year on a game cam. Spent too much on a new gun for the kid, and I bought a new game blind. I picked up a Moultrie 4.0 digital at Wally World for about $98.00 . Dont know what to expect. I took some test pictures and was not all too impressed with qaulity set at "High". As soon as I get some game pics I'll post.

Hope it works out ok for you Cliff. Looks like the reviews on the newer moultrie cams are pretty good.

I have the same cam. It's hard to beat for $100.The quality of the pics isn't great, but the flash range and trigger speed I would say are above average.I keep my pic quality set at medium.Haven't tried the video setting yet.

No,not yet.I've had it out for about 3 weeks on a farm about an hour away.I'm going to get it this weekend though so I can have some pics for you next week. All I got when it was out at my other place for two weeks was does and fawns,so I just never posted any.Hopefully I'll have a few bucks on it this time.

After a 48 hour period, I got 181 pictures. Word of advice. make sure there are no close buy bushes, branches, or weeds that will sway in the wind.

Anyhow I was able to get 4 or 5 deer pics. Here are two of them. Remember this is a $100.00 cam.

I guess I wont. They look (pics) much better now then when I tested the cam on myself. I guess I'm just one ugly dude.

I set the cam up in a new area last night after the rain stopped. I ended up walking into 4 deer around the site. Hope to get more pics up next week.

I have gotten more pics, but nothing to brag about. Pics are clear and crisp and all but one were daytime pics. It even took a pic of a skunk. I learned to not face camera east or west due to sun glare.

Glad it's working out for you!It takes a little trial and error to figure out where to point it and how high to mount it,but after that it does a great job.

A buddy of mine has one of the Moultrie digital flash models, bought it the end of September. Has only pictures of the weeds blowing. Tried it in multiple locations including a cut alfalfa field where he got over 200 pictures of nothing. He is taking it back to Gander Mountain on their "30 day return with a receipt" policy and telling them to junk it. The company made him feel stupid when he called them to see if he had it set up wrong. He has owned CamTracker cameras and Cuddebacks for the past 10 and 2 years respectively and knows how to work a camera. He is very dissatisfied that products brand new out of the box don't work.

I have several of the moultries. I have a couple of last years models with the 6 volt and a couple of the new ones that take D batteries. I dont think the quality is a good as the cuddebacks or other high dollar cams, but for the price I woul drather have two or three moultries out there instead of one high dollar cam. I really like mine. I have hundreds of pics and I can see tines etc... just fine. The only time I am not satisfied with pics is when the sun is shinning right on the cam and it looks whiteish or at really low light when the flash doesnt go off. I think you will be happy with it. Moultrie is also very good about their warranty work. Good luck getting some great pics!
