thats all that matters! my 10 yr old got his first deer this yr and boy was i proud.for awhile it was alot of see nothing days as here in maine the deer population is horrible.but all that counts is the parent child is in the beautiful woods and having a great time.good luck!!!!

That is cool. My oldest got started going with me when she was about 5, got her first deer with a .243 at age 9.

Good deal! How old is your son?
I got a .410 single shot when I was eight years old and hunted for two years before killing my first deer with it.
