I don't know about that MSM. I've had mine out for the last three weeks with Energizer Rechargable batteries and it's still going just fine. In those three weeks I've probably gone through three our four rolls of film as well. With rechargeables, both of my cameras last over a month no matter weather.
JameVee: thats because rechargable NiC batteries and regular alkaline batteries are made from diffrent materials.
Perhaps the recharables have a lower freeze point but I bet they will if it gets any colder then 10* to 15* F for a long period of time.....
Yea it does take awhile for them to freeze but believe me they will. I'm talkin about a week or so of 10 to 15* F, not just an over nighter or up and down temps.
I've never had any probs. with battery's freezing? I know they won't last as long in the cold weather...but never had any freeze. It has been my experience that the battery's in my stealth cam start getting low "way" before the red low battery light comes on. Although it still takes pics. until the the light does come on...they don't seem to ever amount to anything more than a blob or nothing at all. All my pics. that are taken early (new batteries) turn out great.
