What a morning. I scare deer off the foodplot walking in about 6AM. Gobbles coming from every direction. I wait till about 6:30 are start doing some soft calling--purrs and yelps. Have gobblers answering me. I have several walk thru the woods but no bird wanted to show his beak early. About 10am and few owls start talking to each other and a gobbler sounds off. I start yelping with my Primos Ole' Glory slate call and he answers immediately. Continue calling to him and he's getting closer. He finally comes into the plot---Jake. About a 4 inch beard---he's a looking for the girl. About 5 minutes later 3 more jakes join him. They munch on the clover and trefoil for a while---I play with them for about 10 minutes--all 4 gobbling up a storm. They leave and about 15 minutes later I hear a gobble about 100 yards off--figure it is the jakes again but go ahead and talk to them. Then about 5 minutes later two big Toms come walking to my position. They look identical so I pick the closest one--the rest is history. The best part---I got it all on video!!!
