    Default last weekend south of town

    It was getting pretty dark when I took the picture.
    good thing the camera is good with noise, I was at iso 3200

    Great pics

    how long did the shutter stay open....and how was you able to hold the camera so still so the pic was not blurry.

    Toddybowman,
    I was in the van and Jon was driving.


    I was shooting my Nikon D300 with my 20 year old all manual Tamron 300 2.8 lens on a window mount. No metering on it at all, plus manual focus.

    About 15 minutes before I switched the camera to RAW because it was getting darker.

    the camera was at 1/350 of a second at f2.8 and I had the ISO at 3200.

    I should of had the camera probably down to 1/60 sec or less. the pictures were still quite a bit dark, but in RAW I can compensate for it without washing out the picture. If I would of left the camera on Jpg, I would of lost quite a bit of detail lightening the picture.

    That is awesome! What county are you from? I live in Guthrie County and I have been seeing some cats over here but we cannot harvest them....they are one cool creature!!
