Default Wing prints in the snow

Today I took a ride up to the hunting camp in Sullivan county,NY. To hunt some crow and rabbit.
I got neither. But as I was walking back to the house from my hunt. I spooked about 4 hen turkeys that were scratching up a area by my apple trees.
As I was walking by where they were, I saw some weird marks in the snow. It took me a second to figure it out, but it was the wing prints of where they flew off when I spooked them. I thought it was pretty cool

Where they were scratching, it looked like someone took a pitchfork to the area.

It's nice to notice things like that and appreciate the natural beauty of it.

I don't waste time thinking about what life is all about. I go outside, breath the air, wave to the neighbors, smile at strangers and live before I no longer can.

So, has anyone figured out what kind of bird that was? Judging from the 'people footprints', it looks like a pretty decent wing-span......at least 2'.

That is pretty cool Anthony. Not something we would likely see around here.

Ha! I just answered my own question by re-reading the original post.
