    Default Which bucks are you...

...looking forward to seeing this year from last year? Post pictures of those bucks from last year and if you have pictures arleady of him this year put those up too.

Buddy, the buck that sat at 20 yards from my stand the day before gun season. I would of been there too if it wasn't for work. I'll be there this year though.

Guess, the we saw in September and havne't seen him since. Our fingers are cross though for this year.

The Big 8 a buck that I can't hunt, but would be nice to see him again this year in the yard.

Heck I hope I get a crack at either one of these 2 that I got at the end of the 2007 season. They didn't step in front of a camera last year but they're still around somewhere.

Then there are these 2 bucks from last year.

This first one was a big 8 in 2007. He grew some extra tines last year.

This one broke off his right main beam during the season. That might have saved him. Saw him once intect during bow season but too far for a shot. Here's the before and after pics of him.

If I draw an Iowa tag I hope to have a close encounter with this big one. I took these pictures of this main frame 6x6 that also had mule deer kickers off both G2's from my stand in 2007. Never got inside the 75 yard line but he sure shook me up.

Smiley... Should be 5 1/2 this year.... I passed on him when he was 2 1/2 twice. Disappeared when he was 3, then came back for the trail cam last summer. He wasn't spotted nor had a picture taken of him once season opened. These pictures are from last September.

    Three beam buck..

I figure God only gave me so many sunrises, I might as well not miss one.

I'd like to see the one that was with the buck I shot last year. My buck scored 153 and the buck he was with was bigger.

I saw a huge set of prints in my field the other day, and just tonight as I was grilling some chops I saw a big buck in my neighbor's field. This deer was at least 600 yards away, but I could already see a mass of velvet on top of his head.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because you were there.

Don't know for sure yet. Kind of looks like this one that I had a couple encounters with and decided I was going to take but only had a shot I was not comfortable with on last year during our rifle season...........

may have made it after all. Never got anymore pics of him after late December. Buck below looked to light in the body, however looking at his right side just above the ear, sure looks like it might be the same deer.

Alright... Like I said and as some of you may know, I've been following around a Wide 8pt since 2006 when he was 2.5 years old. The way I know it's him every year is by his weak left G3. It is always the weakest tine on his rack and it shows every year.

    2006 @ 2.5 years old:

    2007 @ 3.5 years old:

    2008 @ 4.5 years old:

    2009 @ 5.5 years old:

I feel that this buck I'm getting pics of now is definitely him. The buck's rack is spreading to grow wide like the Wide 8's has done in years past. I have one helluva history with this deer and I would love to stick him. He's in a bow only area in Rockland County, NY, 40 minutes from NYC. I almost shot him twice last season at 4.5 years old. I had him at 23 yards on 11/20/08 and 50 yards on 12/16/08, the last day of the season. Both times he just managed to avoid me. I cannot wait for this October.

And now here's another buck I've had around since last year. Sticker. He grows a Sticker point on his right base.

    2008:

    2009:

So as you folks can see, I'm very much so looking forward to this October. I cannot wait to deflate some lungs.

Joe that 8 point is going to be huge this year! That is one heck of a buck. I say you and your dad set all attention on getting that one. Good luck this season man. I'll be rooting for both of you.
