I'd shoot him now! LOL but if your goal is to take mature bucks and mature bucks only, he looks to be 3.5 now so in 2 years at 5.5 if he makes it, he'll be more than ripe.

He is running with a 4 1/2 year old 8 pt that probably goes 150 net. I want a pic of him b/c he is a real dandy. Saw him in the bean field week ago Sunday...he was out there with this one and a six for over an hour at dusk. Hopefully I get a pic of the bigger deer before season opens here on Oct. 1.

Beautiful deer! He'll be a monster in 2 years, but he's one right now, I'd have no problem arrowing him!

That is a really nice deer. I would probably take him this year, but it would pay off to wait. Good luck in 2011.

2011!!!!! Dude, you sound like the a politician plotting strategy! I don't look that far ahead. You got a nice deer there, I'd have to take the shot with a bow, might pass on the gun too, but still I can't see that far into the future!

This is a 2.5 year old buck. That is why he has so little mass. Next year he will be hard to pass up. But the real pay off will be in 2 years. However, if he gets out of my honeyhole too much someone will pop him during gun season or with bow...I guarunttee it. Most deer in my area don't make it past this phase. However, a few that are taught once are twice learn how to be survivors and keep away from hunters.

But I don't blame anyone for taking him...he would make a good wallmount if you would have him.
