Checked my trail cam today....was going to let it go more than 2 days, but it was one of those days where I needed at least one thing to happen exciting, lol (cranky horse trying to ram you off a tree doesn't count, lol)

Oh there are scrapes near by! Where it kind of opens/lightens up in the photo straight out past the pines, it's a grassy hill and they are tearing up the ground under some white pines big time...must be community scraping, judging by all them little guys.

Looks like a nice young crop of deer. Good pics Ruth.

I noticed that most of the pics, he is looking straight at the camera. I've seen that on some other trail-cam pictures too.

Is that just coincidence, or is there something about the camera that is catching his attention?

I dunno...maybe they see the box on the tree and are like "when did that get there?"

I was just wondering if there was some scent or visual concerns or recommendations that should be practiced when using trail cameras. Or, do these cams make noise prior or during taking the shots? Or are these second shots where the flash from the previous one may have caught their attention. I am curious because I would think that it may not always be helpful to be indicating to the deer that something strange is happening at a particular spot, especially if you plan to hunt that spot soon.

I don't know, it was just something peculiar that I noticed. It may not have any significance at all. It's not the first time I've seen it and was curious as to whether it might impact hunting later on or whether some other precautions should be taken when operating a trail-cam.
