While in Alaska I got to know Crescent Lake very well. I was like a water taxi going back and forth for information, supplies and ferrying people to and from the meeting points near the trail head. My first trip was riding back from the other end of the lake after dropping Kirk and Terry at their spike camp. It was an hour ride with three of us in the boat. Forty-five minutes with just me.
I had to go check up with them the next day and then had to go pick up the girls the day after. After dropping them off at the Saddle Cabin I had to take the other boat and use it as a barge to move the gear from one cabin to the other. Turned into a long night. I put Norm and too_ in the boat with me while loading the gear in the second boat. For whatever reason there are no pictures of the loaded craft. I have not found any. Put it that way. Also used the boat to look for bears and to do some fishing. I rowed most of the time for that to conserve fuel. Those grayling were fun.
Here is a little video of my long travels. The lake is at least 7 miles long if not more.
