    Default Prosthetic leg covering fabric

When I was in my Orthopedic & Prosthetic department the technician told me I could cover my new prosthetic leg with a light fabric material. I'd like to get a sample piece of fabric from Realtree to cover the leg socket.
Is there a contact person who I can email to get a small piece of fabric. It has to be light like umbrella material, but no larger in size than 3'x3'.
I also use it as a unique covering for running. A lot of amputees have unique patterns covering their leg sockets. I'd like to use Realtree as my choice of covering.

welcome to the forums. norm will be on here one of these fine days, and he'll know. if not, maybe go to the lounge and post, or contact buckee in a private post. another thing you may try is going to the pcba-inc.org web site for the physically challenged bowhunters of america. good luck.

    Welcome to the Realtree Forums.
Have you ever thought of getting your prosthetic leg dipped, like they do gun-stocks, etc ?

I'll see what I can do.

The most durable way to cover your prostheses is to have your prosthetist laminate the fabric of choice into the socket itself. This depends if you have a foam cover on the prostheses or not. Some patients choose not to have a foam cover and allow the tube that connects the socket to the knee or foot show.If you do not have a foam cover then the fabric you choose for the socket will be very visible. I own a orthotic and prosthetic company in upstate NY if you need any further information i would be happy to answer your questions.
