I use them because of nerve damage in my arms from my neck.

Default I don't hutn with one but I teach Xbows

I teach War wounded Soldier how to shoot and hutn with crossbows.

Do you have a question perhaps.

My great grand daughter is 4'6" and weighs 82# and cant pull a hunting weight bow weight, so she hunts with a Parker crossbow. She has had one shot in her life and killed an Axis deer with one shot

    maybe I can help you

I use a horton.I got a bad shoulder.I have a hard time with a bow. Crossbows are legal in Ohio for anyone to use. Some bow hunters around here think I cheat by not using bow.I still have to scout, get out early mourning in the cold, and get 35 yards from a deer.

Recoil is bad on some xbows but the SIMS LIMBSAVER RECOIL PAD work great to reduce recoil.

Cocky is down 3 ways By hand= poor accuracy

With a cocking rope OK Good a lot of work

    last a Cocking cranker Divine

Expensive but a 8 year old kid can cock a 300# bow with one.

Best to shoot off a a TV Table Walmart has a all alum sturdy all alum camping table for $18.00

Paint It green get a blackor camo pillow or two to rest the bow on and shoot from a sitting position for best
    accuracy
Shoot 3 blade Stryler broadhed or 4 blade slick tricks.

Never shoot a crossbow offhand if you can help it

Re-curve crossbow are the hot lick you can change a bow string in the field without tools

A compound crossbow requires a Bow press for a string change

Excalibur has a free DVD catalog

    I prefer Parker's they come with a 4# trigger

You are not cheating with the crossbow when Virginia made them legal a few years back I bought a Horton Explorer 150 had a great time with it. Some people dont have the time to practice enough with the compound bow and the crossbow makes an ethical solution for that. After a couple years I sold it because I got a better job with normal hours and I bought a compound. I can tell you I work at a large independent sporting goods store here in VA.We sell a ton of crossbows to all kinds of people. Keep it up and good luck!!!www.dancessportinggoods.net

if a crossbow is legal in your state, it's a fine killing tool. for the handicapped, it's critical. i don't hunt with one, but i'd have no objection to if i needed to use one.

I have to hunt from a wheelchair
before I became glued to the chair I used a compound
But now, its just to bulky for me from the chair.
Thank goodness FL just passed the Xbow here a couple a yrs ago. Yes sir I took full advantage of it. Tink is right
about cocking the xbow with the winder, its like putting jelly on bread it so easy.

    Good Luck
    Hunt safe and Hunt hard.
