Default Suspend disbelief. I\'m thinking of voting for....

    Bush.

While I feel that the Bush Admin hasn't been totally honest on Iraq, has made a mess of it and Kerry would be better for the country economically. I am tired of his feeble attempts at looking like an Outdoorsman. I could care less if he or Bush hunts every weekend, or whether or not they have been elbows deep inside a chest cavity scooping out innards, at least Bush doesn't try to make a show out of it. Kerry reminds me of a sometime weekend warrior who drives to the woods in a Lincoln Navigator and spends more time networking than actually hunting.

Man I bet that was hard to say!!!!!!! Did we beat you into submission or did you actually add up all of the promises and come out with the fact that he is telling everyone what they want to hear. He is full of empty promises and a few other things.

    Welcome aboard.

    Don't ask don't tell...right

Slugo, WTF over. You fall out of your bed and knock yourself upside your grape? Is it that your tired of getting picked on or what

You know what, with everybody in here mostly voting for Bush and for most of the military voting for Bush...with that percentage rate of different kinds of people...I can't see Kerry pulling this thing off. JMO

Thanks TSBH, I needed the laugh, not much to laugh about these days. I figure I could give some more reasoning behind this. First off, I am also seriously thinking about not voting for either one of them, I'll still vote, definitely, it just remains to be seen whether I cast a vote in the first block. As far as my reasoning for my almost change of heart, well, I already stated the first one, secondly, regardless of how I feel about the War in Iraq, I feel it would be a bad idea and a bad message to change Presidents in the middle of it. I mean, if the American people can't decide on who they want to lead, then how can we expect people in other countries to take us seriously when we try to bring democracy to them, I still agree with a lot of what Kerry says and the Democratic ideals, but remember, John Edwards was my first choice, I just don't know if I want to give Kerry my vote based mainly on his choice of running mate.

Well, Slugger...............I can't say as I agree with all your reasoning...............especially the "democrats being better for the economy" thing. But we can debate that 'til the cows come home. But I do think you're doing the right thing by approaching the polling place with reason and logic. Not just a "he ain't Bush" or a "he ain't Kerry" frame of mind. I think that there may be quite a few "Kerry folks" change their minds after they pull the curtain behind them. I think a lot of them maybe for the same reasons you're considering it.

Now let's have a chorus of "Halleluah!!" with trumpets and everything for Slugger!! He's seeing the light!!

slugshooter, this is definitely a welcomed surprise, but I can't say I'm THAT surprised.

A lot of what John Kerry says SOUNDS good. If I were truly undecided, his positions on domestic issues would definitely have appeal. That said, domestic issues don't mean diddly if our C-in-C is not strong on defense.

What it tells me is that you have been paying attention to what they're saying and that Kerry's promises are unrealistic.

Bush, on the other hand is REALLY a moderate. He also has a track record of getting legislation through Congress. He HAS lived up to his promises--tax cut, NCLB Act, prescription drug reform. The last two mentioned things were going right at the heart of what a lot of Democrats believe in.

slugshooter, I know you take a lot of heat here, but no matter your positions on issues, you use your brain and logic. Never have I thought you the mindless zombie type that would just vote for whoever the Democrats put out there.

I do disagree with you about Iraq. I don't think George W. Bush lied, BUT there have been mistakes. In retrospect, we could have done a better job post-invasion. Perhaps we could have given inspections some more time. Trying to be objective and give Bush the benefit of the doubt, I truly think he believed that Iraq was an iminent threat, as did Russia, Germany, and the UK.

What it comes down to is that Bush has been VERY consistent. Yes, he did originally oppose the Dept. of Homeland Security and the 9/11 Commission, but he realized they were BOTH the right thing for the country--and then supported both.

You may have changed your vote and not your party, but I respect that you're considering to cross party lines for who is the stronger leader. It's probably a "lesser-of-two-evils" vote for you, but it takes a remarkable amount of insight and awareness to cross party lines when we're so divided as a nation.

All I have to add is to encourage you to vote. Even if you DON'T vote for Bush, get out there and be heard, ss. I can't reiterate the importance of this election.
