Very Disturbing Email! IRAN! Islam???

Islam, the religion of LOVE??? You got to be kidding me!!!

Received an email Friday about the so-called president of Iran. Seems this young boy, probably about 4-5 years old. Stole a piece of bread. He punishment was to have a car or truck run over his arm! He would lose the use of his arm, for the rest of his life!

BUT THE WORST PART ABOUT THIS EMAIL IS THEY TOOK PICTURES OF HIS PUNISHMENT!!! YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE PAIN THIS LITTLE BOY WENT THROUGH! FOR A PIECE OF BREAD!!!

Who was the kid whose arm was run over. The president of Iran? The last I saw he had full use of his arms. Or is this something that he carried out before he was president. While I don't agree with the punishment, I bet the kid will never steal again. Stiffer punishment is what we need in America anyways. Do you think a kid learns anything today by stealing something and getting a slap on the wrist.

Also, doesn't our Christian bible, at least in the Old Testament say that if our right hand causes us to sin, that we should cut it off, or if our right eye causes us to sin, we should pluck it out. Granted, this isn't literal, but, it sure would be effective.

I've gotten this email. I wonder about it's validity. I know these people are horrible evil people, but I also thought that little boys were held in high regard. It's the girls that got mistreated.

The pictures are very disturbing. But I would love to know if it's real.


And sluggo.............if they ever start punishing children like that in this country............I will move OUT. Yeah, I bet that kid never steals again, or hugs his mother with both arms, or plays ball with both hands, or anything else that requires the use of both limbs.

I googled "boy punished in Iran" and according to Snopes it was a sideshow put on to raise money from passers by. Sort of like a sidewalk magic show.
It also said that it was labeled as Islamic Justice, but that the photos have floated around since 2004, sometimes giving credit to Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, or Pakistan.

I think you should be able to breath better now.

I have been thinking about this all day. Thanks Popgun! I keep forgetting to run this by Snopes! The sight of that little boy's arm and his face was too much! Even though it was an act. The parents should be arrested!

Even though he has a garment of some sort wrapped around his arm, it still must have some kind of pain involved. Depending the size of vehicle, it could still snap the bones.

And sluggo, lets hope they never start inforcing that kind of punishment in this country! I am all for discipline, but nothing that is going to mark or harm a child for life!

"Article 49" of Iranian law "exempts children from punishment. Addendum 1 to this article defines a child as someone before puberty. But in the civil law puberty for boys is 15 and for girls 9 lunar years (article 1210, addendum 1). So girls come of age for punishments six years before boys. This is particularly striking since in everything else such as inheritance, custody over children, marriage, divorce, ownership, travel, giving witness etc women are considered delicate creatures in need of protection by men. But when it comes to being punished, suddenly they are more mature and responsible for their actions. Less rights, more punishment. One can imagine a situation where a boy of 14 and a girl of 9 steal. According to the law she would lose four fingers of her right hand for first offence (article 201), her left foot for the second offence, prison for third and execution for the fourth! He would go scott free."

ALthough I don't agree with the supposed punishment of the boy in Iran. I do have to agree with slugshooter. If we had some stiffer punishments in the US then we might not be in the shape we are in. At the very least make prison, prison, and not a rest from work. At least there is a sheriff in Arizona that is on the right track.
