Who's to Blame??

It is going to be very interesting about 1 year from now! With the democrats having the house for sure and maybe the senate, who are they going to blame when they can't come up with any solution to the countries problems??

Oh I forgot, they will still have Bush to blame and he is the fault for everything!

Watch all the gun control bills that are going to be introduced! All the judges that are appointed are never going to get out of committee! Watch the funding for Iraq and Afganistan get cut! Watch for cuts in intelligence!!

Up it should be interesting!!

Many of the Dems that were elected, are "blue dogs"(or Reagan Democats, if you prefer). Many are in very conservative areas, so i don't see them being able to pass gun control bills. Not if they want to hold on to thier jobs next election. The other concerns? I sure hope not.

The Republicans are squarely to blame and no one else.

They alienated their base by spending more than ANY PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION, created more entitlement programs than EVER BEFORE EVEN FDR, and refused to do anything except talk amnesty while millions of illegal immigrants took over our streets to call us racists and bigots. They did nothing more than express outrage when the NY Times torpoedoed one of our most valuable terrorist prevent measures...had Clinton been in office there would have been investigations, subpoenas, and people would have gone to jail. Knowing the truth but feeling the shifting tides, they let the Democrats tell the lie that Iraq was unnecessary so many times that it became truth with the voters.

I said as much in a congratulatory email to Saxby Chambliss. I wrote him about these very issues 6 months ago and he responded back with some smartbutt reply about how Democrats are a party of nothing but personal attacks and no ideas.......so I responded back immediately with "yes, but you are losing to them". That man will never get another vote from me or my family.

They ignored the will of their voters for the prospect of the illegal aliens vote down the road. They abandoned conservatism completely.

They handed the Democrats the win across the nation (US House and Senate, State Houses and Senates, Governorships, etc.) it was a rout. Further, they handed the Dems the momentum for a 2008 Hillary Clinton win.

p.s. Ronald Reagan just emailed me from the grave....he is switching parties!

Yes, it will be very interesting Orlan. Had thought about this the other day. When they are looking for the new direction in Iraq, and offer no solutions, who will they ultimately blame, when they do away with the tax cuts and the economy becomes a bit slower, who will they blame. May not see the results in a year, but will certainly be interesting.

I would kind of agree with part of this, in that the republicans were maybe a bit too complacent. Rove suggesting that the republicans would retain control and a false sense of confidence may have hurt them. I do not put the sole blame on them though. That true fault lies with the American people who for whatever reason did not vote or let themselves be fooled into thinking that the dems really have this solution to the problems in Iraq.

The dems were organized attack dogs. The Republicans are like cows wandering a hilltop somewhere looking out for themselves only. A mildly organized group that wouldn't stand as a unit.

While I agree in part with you New about what I said seemed like complacency, you have to remember that the voters are responsible for who they vote for. Sure the dems had their attack and they followed through with it quite well, but the voters made the decision, a poor one in my mind.

I dont think I would go as far as to use the symbolism's you chose here as the republicans being wandering cows.

Like I said, the voters didn't leave the party because the dems had better ideas. The dems nationalized this vote and the pubs decided to localize it. You have several very well liked, well renown long-term congressmen 86'd last night. This was a protest vote pure and simple and was a result of the actions of the pubs. Results of polls are saying that corruption was the primary issue voted against.

Had the pubs kept their noses clean and stuck to the Reagan principles, we would have gained seats. Limitless spending, cowering to the democrats, wandering around doing their own thing, not supporting the President, not pushing immigration when the US was so upset by it, and not using their bully pulpits got them cast out.

I great lesson learned but now the momentum favors Clinton in 2008.

actually have to agree with what a guest on Fox news said earlier that this may end up being more beneficial to republicans in the long run. The people will see that the "new direction" the dems were promising do not exist and maybe enough people will be hit in the pockets to get a real wake up call and realize how they screwed up. Think there is a good chance we might see another republican president in 08. Hearing now that Frist has intentions. I like Bill First, and think he might do well in 08 if he pursues it.

Sorry, I have to disagree again.

All of this sterring issue happened under Frist and Hastert and both of them need to go. They should step aside and let new leadership clear the air and take away further campaign issues in 2008.

The media is squarely in the corner of the Dems and they will get away with murder and have it reported as rosey. The media will dress this darlin up just like fancy from Reba McEntire...cept we're the dancin girl!

Frist never showed any leadership in the Senate and I would be very hard pressed to vote for him for president!

In fact, right now, I can't think of any Republican that is showing me anything. The only saving factor is that if Hillary gets the nomination, I will vote for anybody else!

Drudge has something about John Bolton as the US-UN ambassador being next...not sure if that is as in resign or be appointed.
