Yep, Hillary is resurrecting that socialist agenda item of government funded healthcare.

The stupid people of the US think "golly gee, free healthcare". Is it too late to abort these people?

For every dollar of care you receive from the government, you will probably be taxed 3, 5, or $10.

Plus, you might think...well if I need care that the government says I can't get, I will just pay for it out of pocket. Nope, under hillarycare, you and the doctor would go to jail. That's against the law.

So let's say your son little Billy gets cancer. The doctor says "given your son's cancer, the only hope is an experimental treatment pioneered in Amstredam". You apply for approval to the US government and are told that "experimental treatments aren't covered".

So imaging having to tell little Billy that there is no hope.....

Yep, no doubt she will try. Funny thing though, she was unable to push it through when her husband was in office, and that came about in the beginning of his first term if I remember right. I hope that the socialized health care gets just as far as it did during Slicks 8 years.

I can tell you for sure that it will be a bad dream for most of us who work in the healthcare business. Be prepared to see the quality of care go down due to government regulations.

As a witness of government healthcare in the UK I can tell you that it's the worst thing that could happen to us.

Here is my solution to health care problems.

1. Put price limits on all necessary medical proceedures and make the cost all inclusive. Why should we have to pay $20 for the box of tissue in the room if we don't blow our nose. Check your bill, it's probibly there. It was on ours.

This would force Doctors and hospitals who are not at the top of the medical world to come down or not get any buisness. This would also let us know in advance what that prostate exam is going to cost.

2. Limit medical malpractice suits to real damages, including further medical treatments, loss of income, pain and suffering, but no punitive damages. ie. your not going to get a million dollars because the Dr. made one eyebrow lower than the other unless you're a supermodel and your job depends on your looks and you can prove you would have made that much.

3. Require reimbersement to medicare and medicade for unnecessary visits to the Dr. or emergency room.

Many people who are on these go to the emergency room when they get a cold or go to the Dr. and don't need to. We taxpayers pay for an emergency visit when a simple Dr. call would be enough and many Dr. visits where going to the pharmisist and asking a question would be enough.

3. Volenteer enrolement in the same insurance that congress gets at a rate that is cost effective with insentives not to use it. The more you use it, the more it cost, the less you use it, the less you pay, with equal coverage for everyone.

If there were a big enough pool of people in an insurance group the cost of medical expences could be dispersed enough for premiums to be very low.

4. Tax (yes I'm a Republican) on items that cause health problems to be used as a subsity for medicare, national insurance and research. ie. tobacco, alchohol, chips, fast food, soft drinks, sports equiptment, bungee jumping, hang gliding, sky diving.............

If something causes more people to get sick or get hurt, then it is partially responsible for medical costs.

5. No medical care for anyone not legally in the U.S. unless they can pay for it.

Why should I pay for someone to come across the border and pop out a kid, just so that kid can get food stamps and free milk and medicine. I'm sorry, but we're not the world's grocery store and Drs. office.

John is EXACTLY right....try waiting months or years for an elective surgery and try getting something beyond the norm done.

As much as I hate regulation, I think the answer has to be regulation of the insurance industry. I used to work for Blue Cross and I can tell you that place is making money hand over fist. The insurance business is the only one that basically can do whatever they want. They charge you money to insure you, fight almost all claims, then when you do have claims, they raise your premiums to cover their "losses" and once they recoup those losses, they don't decrease your premiums.

good point new! i have a theory you might also enjoy! i am not going to say seatbelt and motorcycle helmets aren't the way to go but who do you think lobbied the governments the hardest to push these things into laws? another way to lower risks and raise rates! i personally where mine but to be told by the government that you have to feels like big brother breathing down your neck!

Imagine that you have some beef with the government.... back taxes, belong to a group they don't like, etc. The government could just cut your access to healthcare right off. It would be illegal to get treated elsewhere so best of luck pal.

Try getting emergency medical care for a stroke or a heart attack when the government hospitals are clogged with people using it as a health clinic.

I can remember the fears back in the 90's when so many people were saying that it(Hillary's plan) was going to happen, and look it never did. My wife was just starting nursing school at the time, and was said that the wages for nurses would plummet with socialized health care under Clinton's plan, wow, they sure plummeted didn't they????

Just cause Hillary says so New, does not mean that it will happen. There are some serious problems with the way health care and insurance are gouging people now, but socializing health care and putting the government in total control as Clinton would like to do is not the answer. Hopefully the people of this country and their representative lawmakers will once again keep Hillary's communistic ideas from going any further than they did last time around.

The difference last time is that Hillary pivved off everyone with her plans. To the public at large, she was the first lady maurading as if she was President. To the dems, she was out of control and taking over powers that weren't hers as the first lady. To the Republicans, she was just evil.

I will bet you a broadhead that if Hillary Clinton becomes president, we will have socialized medicine during her time.

Too many Americans are just dumb. Plain dumb and lazy. They want someone else to take care of the details...all too willing to trade freedom for perceived decrease responsibility. Look at the plan to let us take a PORTION only a 2% portion of Social Security and keep it in a 401-K account for us. It could be passed down, etc. The American public at large rejected it.

Just like with the elections, only after it is done and doctors start becoming architects and drug companies stop research into new drugs because of price regulation (dems are currently calling it negotiating with the drug companies) will the American people realize what has been done to them. Only the geenie will be out of the bottle by that time.

Hillary also faced a Republican Congress that put the kaibash on it. She knew she could write legislation until she was blue in the face but wouldn't get it passed. A public loss would have been embarrassing to her and Bill so she tabled it until she really had the power.

I am telling you, what Hillary wants...hillary gets. Lie after lie (named after Sir Edmond hillary), FBI Filegate, travelgate, Rose Law Firm, Whitewater, etc. and she still is the belle of the ball. You underestimate what she and the willing media will do to make sure she becomes President. And the "I voted for Bill because he is cute" women voters will be hard to defeat as they often comprise the crucial swing voters.

New, my personal opinion was that Hillary was the puppetmaster behind Slick Willy for most of his career to begin with. She has stuck with him for the sole purpose that she likes the power, and YES she is evil in my mind too. Her intents are scarey for sure, but I am not going to dwell on the what ifs and let it get me to the point of hysteria. I do not think she will ever make it back in the White House. The people of this country may be sick of a lot of things, but just dont think they will elect her, even with the media, the people of this country are not all that ignorant. I see where what you are saying could happen if everything pans out for her in her favor, but I dont think the American people will let it happen the way she wants it.

My sister in law worked in the Clinton white house in the Chief of Staff's office. I can ASSURE you that Hillary was as much responsible for the policies as was Bill.

As for hysteria, it isn't hysteria...I am trying to warn people and get them either informed or prepared.

We will see about whether she does. Rudy cannot stop her. McCain is about as inspirational as a bowel movement. We have few choices unless Newt runs.

Think we here are all pretty well on the same page as you already New. Dont think anyone here wants hillary or her crap.

As far as McCain, saw on the news yesterday where if an election was held today of the people polled, McCain would win by a 5 point margin over Clinton 49% to 44%. While I am not a McCain fan either, he is most certainly the lesser of two evils.

I have heard this argument before that items such as the ones listed above should be taxed and, I disagree. I think any of the food items listed above are fine as long as you enjoy them in moderation. I don't believe I should be punished because other people can't control their eating habits.

I understand where you are coming from though I just don't believe taxes are the way to eliminate the problem.

Also, I think sports and some of the activities listed above actually have health benefits that would offset any injuries that would result from playing the sports.
