Default ***NEW LIST*** National Organizations With Anti-Gun Policies

    National Organizations With Anti-Gun Policies

The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI "Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws." Many of these organizations were listed as "Campaign Partners," for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton "assault weapons" ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions.

My personal view is that I tend to avoid companies, individuals or organizations that are actively anti 2nd Amendment or anti hunting whenever I can. But in some circumstances, business or other interactions with these types may be unavoidable, and if that happens I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over it.

Pretty well do the same here. The list is quite a list, however really not noticing any that standout as new or surprising. Think some of those on the list such as Sara Lee had been discussed topics in these forums in the past.

    After further review...

I'm actually a member of one of the organizations on the list - the American Medical Association. If it was an option for me, I might consider dropping my membership and explaining my reason to them, but unfortunately my job requires membership.

I don't know of any efforts by the NRA to legalize fully automatic weapons to anyone who isn't qualified to own one now. The same goes for most of the other weapons that are typically brought up by the anti's, like bazookas, flame throwers, grenades and rocket launchers. Those types of things are never even mentioned by the NRA leadership.

What the NRA does believe is that a law abiding, mentally competent, adult has a right to own and carry weapons for self defense and for sporting purposes. They (actually I should say we) believe that a qualified individual should be able to purchase as many of these weapons as desired, without any waiting periods. Furthermore, we believe that strict enforcement of existing gun laws will do far more to reduce gun related crimes than any new laws will ever accomplish.

I may have some more to add on Monday, but I'm ready to start my weekend, and I'm going fishing!

OK guys, this little discussion is getting out of hand.
It's just getting into name calling and insults now.
The original post here, was NOT asking whether or not you supported the NRA, or the anti-gun side. John was just posting a list of information, to do with what you wish.

If you want to discuss whether or not you support the NRA, and why, then start another thread.

This discussion is going no-where now, and off topic as well, so I've deleted all posts that were off topic, and led up to this go-no-where argument.

And I used spell-check so I wouldn't get called names too ...LOL

Think there was a post or maybe two in this thread completely removed, which might make this a bit hard to follow in respects to what Steve posted.

I asked Steve to delete my posts as well as the others to help this get back on topic! I apoligize for anything that might have offended anybody! I was only trying to give out information that some might not know about! Again, I apologize!
