Thumbs down Do you watch the conventions?

I do. Only so I know first hand what is said and I don't have to rely on the talking heads to tell me what was said.

    I wasn't impressed.

Like her husband she spoke without content. It was nothing more than a portraiture. She pushed all the right buttons (family, pride, military) to bring cheers and tears to the eyes of those already committed to their cause. Mommy, daddy and the girls put on a fantastic show. But, there was very little substance.

"The America she has come to love?" All this in a few short months since she said "for the first time in her life she was proud to be a American." An America that put her thru Harvard Law School. I doubt her mother and working-class father did it, as she would have us believe, on their income.

She learned well from Barack who, himself, is without content or substance. He gives canned speeches - without questions - rather than meet McCain in town hall forums. Why? Because he can't debate. He's articulate when it's canned. Saddleback was the closest he'll ever come to a forum or debate.

Was on past my bedtime last night, getting some sleep is a bit more important at this point to me than listening to Michelle Obama talk up her husband. Do not really figure I missed much.

I have to admit I am pretty intrigued on what and how Hillary will speak tonight and what kind of effect it might have with her followers, a pretty good chunk of which are supposedly planning to vote for McCain.

I don't put much stock in conventions from either party. Like you said, they're mostly stage productions. I do however watch the debates, and I think that Obama will have his hands full with McCain. Assuming McCain can get Obama to agree to a debate.

Hillary did much better than Michelle O - but it was still the typical liberal drivel.

Had to work late so missed it on TV - listened to it on NPR. Boy, you can tell where they stand listening to their after-speech commentaries - and our tax dollars pay for them.

No I didn't because I am not impressed with anything they have put out. Obama is suppose to be my senator but has spent more time trying to get elected than representing the people of Illinois which was suppose to be his sworn duty
