Here's some more good news. Only 1452 days left before the next inauguration.

    But who's counting?

Good to know there are other non-sheeple out there. Also good to see his honeymoon isn't going as good as he might have hoped.

Good News........I commute to work 47 miles each way everyday. I spent that time this afternoon on my cell phone calling my legislators about my feelings on HR 45 and backdoor gun control. Hopefully it helps but at least I felt better afterwards anyway.

Yeah, but how many of those people voted against him because he was black, or because he wasn't Hillary Clinton, or because they simply didn't care.

i, for one, did not vote for mccain. i did, however, vote against obama (for his liberal policies and staunch anti hunter/anti gun stance) meaning i darkened the mccain block. i'd have MUCH, MUCH rather have voted for a conservative candidate, like condolesa rice. but she refused to run.

marc, i don't think the bulk of americans are prejudiced. (i think that is what you were implying) sure, there are way too many neo-nazi's, skinheads, and black panthers, that's for sure. all the hate mongers shold get lost. but obama got 52% of the vote in a nation where about 10% of voters are black. that means lots of white vote and the near end of the discrimination factor. now, i say near end because 98% of blacks voted for color. they are still a bit prejudiced, i'm afraid, or mccain would have gotten 46% of the black vote, in symmetry with the entire vote. he did not. another thing i'll point out is that of all the white countries in the WORLD, such as the brittish empire, soviet union block, austrailia, new zealand.... heck, just all the predominently white countries. america is the youngest of the bunch, and some of those countries go back thousands of years. well, america is the very FIRST of the white countries to ever elect a black. so the days of implying that americans are prejudiced are dead. at least on the white side.

No I'm not trying to imply that the bulk of white Americans are prejudiced, but unfortunately, there are more than there needs to be. What I was trying to get at was trying to relate a little of what happened four years ago. How many people voted for Kerry or against Bush simply because they didn't like him, and vice versa. Obama is enormously popular across all racial lines, which is something I have never seen in my 32 years, and I am sure more than what people older than me have ever seen.

no again, marc. i think colin powel was more popular in the mid '90's than obama ever though to be. he was everyone's hero, and would have creamed clinton. but, you were too young at the time to think about politics. powel's wife didn't want him to run, so he turned down the rnc.

but, obama is good looking, tall and smooth. most folks will look at him quite differently in a few years.

Too young in the mid 90's?? I was in the Air Force at the time, and I had been thinking politics since high school. I remember Colin Powells popularity, and probably would have voted for him if given the chance, but I don't believe he had the popularity that Obama has now. He certainly didn't get the press that Obama received/receiving.

The president has a huge undertaking in front of him my only hope is that with the economy taking center stage that gun control will not be as big an issue. When I look at Obama I see a young president with a lot of big issues and he has a way with words that may benefit him in helping get his way, I just hope that he has the best interest in America rather than the global economy and or himself.

Listen carefully and be cautious because a forked tounge speaks elequently that is my advice.
