    Default More outrageous democrat tactics

So the House passed it's version of the "stimulus" bill and the Senate passed it's version. As is customary, the bill then went to a joint House-Senate conference committee to work out the differences and determine a final wording.

Guess what? The democrats locked the republicans out of the conference committee! Folks that's almost 1 TRILLION dollars worth of spending that was totally crafted and executed by congressional democrats, with no input or objections from republicans allowed.

And it gets even worse (or better, depending on your perspective). Details of the bill were kept secret from the public and from republican lawmakers until 11:00 pm last night. And the vote is scheduled for this morning at 9:00 am. And the final bill is over 1000 pages long!

So, the public has not been given a chance to comment on the bill, and the republicans were given 10 hours, in the middle of the night, to read a 1000+ page bill and decide whether or not to support it.

Pelosi, Reid, Obama - This economy is now 100% YOURS. You own it, for better or worse. From this point forward, you can no longer blame anything on Bush or the republicans. And anyone else who tries to say so.... Well, you're an idiot.

The Spending bill will last I heard be putting about one third of what they are taking back into tax payers pockets, the rest is for the most part wasteful spending. Sure some of the spending may create temporary new jobs, but at the cost of increasing inflation and potentially putting others out of work.

The thing that floors me is the $260 billion that was being proposed to go back in taxpayers pockets is going to be in the way of tax cuts which imo is not likely going to do too much to stimulate the economy with rising inflation and increasing job losses. Why does that money have to be borrowed to give it back to those who earned it anyway? They cannot keep borrowing and printing money at this rate.

I agree with you Mike, this is all on Pelosi, Reed, and on Obama. They can try to pin this on Bush all they want and some of the naive people out there unfortunately will believe it, but think a lot of people are going to have their eyes opened.

Go ahead, call 'em an idiot! It'll make you feel better.

BTW - I'll probably end up eventually calling someone who posts an unsupported argument in this thread an idiot.

LOL. Nah, don't foresee any potential for banning here Mike.

Nothing wrong with calling it how you see it so long as it is civil.

What I don't understand in why three republican senators, including Specter from PA, voted for it in the senate. If those three hadn't voted for it, it wouldn't have gotten out of the senate.

I haven't researched it, but my gut reaction would be that all three got some major pork for their state in the bill.

That's kinda what I was thinkin Texan. I also thought that maybe Specter feared for his re-election chances since PA went so heavily for Osama. Funny thing though, he was on the Radio Factor about two weeks ago saying he was against the stimulus. He also said he was against Holder being AG but I think he voted for him I believe as he is on the judiciary committe.

Just a small way of making the ones paying the bill feel better about paying - while a lot of those tax cuts will be going to those who don't pay taxes.

And, so much for transparent government with the public being able to have time for input - let alone congress having time.
