Default A Little Perspective on the Federal Budget

On the campaign trail, President Obama repeatedly criticized President Bush for adding $2.9 trillion to the national debt over his eight years in office.

One small problem. Under President Obama's own budget, the national debt will increase by $3.2 trillion in just one year!

And to really put these numbers into perspective, imagine this:
If you wanted to spend the $3.9 trillion in the Obama budget, but could "only" spend $1 million a day, it would take you more than 10,800 years.
Off the Porch and lovin' it...

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."

I think it is actually $3.7 Trillion. At least that's what they were saying on Fox News this morning. Like that's any better!

and it's not just 3.7 trillion either. they are hinting at over 8 trillion by time he's done. while they are fighting over splitting up the golden eggs, the goose that lays them is dying. american businesses are in severe decline (not many businesses are doing as well as they did one year ago), and the golden eggs are not being laid.

But Mike, look at all the money he is saving with bringing home the troops from Iraq.(that is meant purely as sarcastic incase anyone wonders)

Very sickening really that they are wasting so much of our money. I had hopes that some of us might be wrong, and actually wished the best for this administration. Obama and his crew are wasting no time with proving some of us right. Inflation will hit all time highs, afraid we are well on our way to a depression.

I'm glad the situation in Iraq has improved enough to allow our forces to draw down. And I wish those troops were coming home, but most seem to be headed to Afghanistan.

I wonder if the anti-war protesters will notice?

That is not being too highly publicized by our mainstream media is it.

Glad things in Iraq are drawing nearer to the point that they have a chance to stand on their own as well Mike, hopefully things there will continue to progress.

I doubt they ever will. You and I both know that when we (the U.S.A) hit rock bottom that President Bush will be blamed for it all. The excuse will be "President Obama tried his hardest but the damage President Bush did was just flat out irreversible."
I don't waste time thinking about what life is all about. I go outside, breath the air, wave to the neighbors, smile at strangers and live before I no longer can.
