Default GPS on our cars

What will everyone do if the Gov enacts the plans to tax people per mile they drive?

Do you want a gps on your car telling the Gov where you have been and what you are doing?

What civil disobedience would you resort to to tell them how you feel?

I don't know what i would do, i hope i don't have to find out!!!!

I plead my case to one of my local state representatives and he said he had never heard of such a thing. That was last year. I bet he knows now. He said he would be very much against it. Talk about cripling rural America. I commute 47 miles one way daily and my wife drives 42 one way not counting taking and picking up our son from daycare. It would kill us. Everyone's usage already evenly disperses the currently high gas tax. I drive more so I pay more tax than those who drive less. The gosh darn government just can't stop spending so they want more of our hard earned money.

I herad a little about it, but think it has been discarded for lack of a better word
I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same. So help me God.

    It actually is gaining steam,

The report recommends moving to such a tax, which would mean equipping cars and trucks with a device that uses GPS technology to track the number of miles driven and compute the tax owed. The amount could be adjusted to charge more for travel during peak traffic hours.

Commission member Geoffrey Yarema, a Los Angeles transportation lawyer, said the commission examined more than 40 types of funding schemes before arriving at a consensus that a mileage-based system makes the most sense.

BO's administration said not right now but said it might be in the future.

Truly the deal for me is loss of privacy (alot of that going around) where are all those people that were crying about GWB when he started the wire tap stuff.......they are silent about the Gov knowing where you are at all times. Next comes a chip in your head or something Not me.....come and take me!

I see an America full of bicycles in the future.

we ALREADY pay a per mile tax. it's in our gas taxes and has been for years. if your car gets 15 miles per gallon and the tax is 60 cents per gallon, that equals 4 cents per mile gas tax. what they really want is more and bigger taxes, and will most likely get it. fall in line, sheep. the obama sheepherders are ready to tackle the tough job....
