with turkey season coming up, how do you all cook your bird? just looking for something new this year
Last turkey I made I did in my water smoker. I rubbed the entire bird, inside and out, with a coating of honey and placed it in the smoker and kept a generous supply of hickory and mesquite chunks on the coals. When finished the bird came out of the smoker with this beautiful golden bronze color, an aroma that is indescribable, and a taste that was fantastic. It wasn't a wild bird, I wish it had been, but it was delicious just the same.
