    Post start your scrapes

just food for thougtht, start your scrapes now. I will start my by the middle of sept. I either will use an old scrape location or I will start a new one to entice that a buck visit my new location. Make sure that licking branch is 5 to 6 of the gound. I like to use tarsal gland, orbital gland and reg buck urine to start my scrapes. Reactivate once a week, but make sure you are scent free when you visit it just like you were hunting. this might add just another element to you experience this fall.

Community scrape activity here seems to be picking up some. Will probably start some mock scrapes in the next week or two.

I started making mine two days before opening day here in OHIO. I have already had some visitors to my mock scrape so far. In the early season I hunt in a valley that is just a hundred yards or so from a heavily used bedding area. In the later fall when the rut begins the bucks come here to look for the ladies. I have had the pleasure of seeing many nice bucks even though it's on public land, but they are not kind enough to ever give me a shot opportunity. Maybe this year my luck will change.

Haven't seen anything first hand, but have heard reports of bucks running scrape lines already.
