Buying a Weatherby Vanguard 30/06.....
No iron sights are on it, so I'm looking for a good scope to top it off, that won't break the bank....
What is a good scope, brand, and power that is moderately priced? $100.00 or so?

For that price, I would suggest the Simmons Whitetail Expedition 3-9x42 . Its one of the better scopes you can get for $120.
I'm with AJ. When I bought my rifle scope i compared and compared and compared. I ended up with a Simmons Aetec that was on sale for about 129 or 139 bucks. I think its their top of the line scope and I absolutely love it. I'm watching some on ebay that are brand new. I expect they'll go for about 120 bucks or so which would be a great deal. I'm thinking about picking one up for my muzzleloader. It just seems like with simmons you get a scope with more and better features for less money than many of the competitors.
take a look at either the nikon or bushnell scopes i haver a buckmaster on my 25-06 and will have either a bushnell legend or nikon buckmaster next year on my 209x50. both of these scopes has great ligth transmission and the sope is fog. water, and shock proof

Go buck, did you buy a scope yet? If so, let us know what you bought and how you like it. Thanks, Greg
Not yet, "christmas present to myself"......
Will report when I get one, and how I like it....
For $150 bucks...I'd get another Nikon Pro-staff. It would take someone with a much better eye than myself to see the difference in my Nikon and Luepold Vari XII.![]()

changed my mind when i looked at a burris full field 2. talk about a clear and bright scope i was amazed when i looked thri it and it was nice and crisp. 95% light transmission and a shock proof fog proof and water proof scoped sight. i am planning on having it on my gun for next year and m buckmaster on my 209x50 encore as well. there are a lot of good sights out there but not many have that good of light transmission and upper end stuff onm it like the full field
