.270 wsm

hey i was wondering what your opinions were on the .270 wsm. because i was thinking about the .300 mag but .270 wsm has less of a drop i think .

I guess if you want to get technical, the 270 WSM does have 2" less drop at 400 yards than the 300 WSM (which does not matter) but it also has 15% less energy (which also does not matter, as both have adequate energy).

I would get the 300WSM. Bigger bullet selection. I will do anything the 300Win Mag can do. Meaning anything in NA---including Brown & Grizzly Bear. Can't say that about the 270 WSM. If they are not in your plans then I say get a 30/06 or 270 Win. You really don't need a mag to hunt deer, elk or moose. Plus the ammo is way cheaper & plentiful. CB

What are you going to use it for?

The 300 mag is a great gun, but I don't own one. Would get one to hunt elk. I have a Browning 270 for deer and it's perfect for me.
