They are decent guns. I have seen more that did not shoot well (over 1.5 MOA) than did shoot good. I have seen some that were not consistant at all. One group would be 1" the next would be 2". Flyers can go into a group or out of a group. If shots are kept short range (under 150 yards), the gun will do fine. If you have one that will shoot decently, its a good rifle. It will have less recoil than the bolt gun. The 6mm is basically the same as the 243, so there is no real difference there. Let her shoot both of the guns and see what works the best. If you can get another gun out of the deal why not?

One thing to remember with this style of gun is the one shot flyer from the magazine. It is not uncommon for the gun to shoot the first shot from the magazine to a different POI than when the gun cycles naturally from a shot being fired.

It would be a great varmint rifle if it shoots good enough. I would want it to shoot 1 MOA at 100 yards to be a varmint rifle. Loaded up with 55-80 grain bullets it will do the job.
