Anybody shoot a 7mm WSM?
I've never fired the 7mm WSM, but I do own a .300 WSM. I love the short action mags, they have awesome performance.
Here's a couple ballistics from winchester for the 7mm Remington Mag and the 7mm WSM, both are Winchester Supreme Accubond CT loads.
7mm Rem Mag
Muzzle Velocity: 2950 fps
Muzzle Energy: 3091 ft.lbs.
7mm WSM
Muzzle Velocity: 3050 fps
Muzzle Energy: 3306 ft. lbs.
The WSM cartridges are pretty impressive, plus you don't have to carry the big long bullets, and you have a short action rifle as well.![]()
I love my 7mm WSM. It is extremely flat shooting and powerful. The big downside is the price of bullets! I pay upward of $40 for a box of 20 shells.
Yeah shells are quite pricey for the WSM's! I pay anywhere from $29.99 to $36.99 depending on the brand, well worth it though.
Have you tried out the Winchester Supreme Elite XP3 or Winchester Supreme Accubond CT bullets? They're expensive but they shoot really good. (They look pretty cool too!lol)
I just posted on the 7mm wsm not to long ago. I have it in a browning a bolt and love it. I'm shooting the winchester supreme 140's. They shoot great.
Those XP3's in the 150 gr 270 are incredible. If I could buy them as bullets only for reloading I would immediately switch from my favorite Barnes bullets.
