I just picked up a Ruger M77 Mark II in 30.06 with a Bushnell Elite 3200 Firefly scope. This is my first centerfire rifle ever so I am very psyched!!!
A local gun club is actually having a sighting in event next weekend, so I plan on taking out on Sunday.
I'll be shooting Remington Core-Lokt 250 grain bullets to sight in. Any recommendations on a good hunting round? I was thinking maybe Winchester Silvertip or Accubond or maybe something from Hornady.
Thoughts?

If the Core lokts shoot well for you....take 'em hunting!! I'd personally opt for a 165 or 180 grain in the '06. But 150's will be fine too. IMHO.......there's not too many compelling reasons to spend over $20 for a box of deer ammo. There are a few......but not many. I can think of NO reasons to need a controlled expansion 30 caliber bullet for deer.
