Default New Ruger super redhawk I built

This is a revolving rifle that I built out of a Ruger super redhawk. I have shot it and it is awesome. Just thought I would do something different to mix things up a little. I will hunt deer this year with this 44mag and see what I can come up with. It is not finished as you can see from the pics but I had to take some pics to se what you guys think. Let me know.

The barrel is 17". It cost me 200.00 for the muzzle brake and all the work to my Ruger barrel. I have the guys info if anyone needs it. He will do any barrel with one of his muzzle brakes. He also has slip on muzzle brakes like mine for 65.00. The whole gun cost me the price of the gun 600.00 and it had all the engraving on it already, muzzle brake and threading 200.00, T/C gun stock off ebay 74.00 and my 10hrs of fitting the stock to the revolver priceless LOL. Total 874.00 and a keg of beer. I will post pics of it done with the scope on it and maybe a target after I shoot it again.

Looks cool but I gotta question.

I thought all revolvers leaked some gas between the cylinder and the barrel. You need some clearance there so the cylinder will actually turn.

I was taught to never ever grip in front of the cylinder on a revolver. Doing so could get you burnt pretty bad. At least that's what I was told. I believed it. So I've always kept both hands behind the cylinder when shooting a revolver.

    Is this not an issue?

Leo you are right about the gap. I had the guy take the barrel down to close the gap a little. It worked great and I only shoot this gun with a long sleeve shirt on. So yes, you should never put your hands in front of the cylinder on a revolver it will get you good.
