The factory trigger on Savage guns is barely adequate at best. The Accutrigger is a different critter though. I replace the factory Savage triggers with Rifle Basix triggers. They are much better and safer than the factory stuff. Some Savage trigges can be adjusted to a decent trigger pull, but many can not. Often when the trigger is adjusted enough to pass the safety inspection the trigger pull is heavy and has lots of creep.

You can read through the instructions on trigger adjustment but if you do not understand how or why any of it is done, have it done by a professional.
