I thought I had found the mother of all non-typical mule deer sheds when I saw this group of tines sticking out of the grass. Then when I got closer I realized it was a matched set stacked one on top of another. The set scored 169 (gross) with an estimated 21.5 inside spread. He could be a whopper this fall, especially if he decides to grow out his left main beam.

I also thought that was a non-typ @first glance!Congrats.I'm home for the weekend & might venture out myself.

Luckily it didn't go in far enough to puncture through. I was afraid to pull it out , though. I could just picture the calcium spraying.
