I've got a pair of sheds that I picked up from when I was 11 years old. I found them within 10 feet of each other before they had a chance to bleach out in the sun to much. They don't have huge tine length but awesome mass, going over 6 1/2 inches. When I was a teenager I actually carried these as rattling antlers.
This is a picture of the previous right shed with another right shed that I picked up about 1 mile away. You can sure see the genetic similarities. It carries the same great mass, about equal tine length and even the brow tine splits the same way. But this the the really intersting part................I picked this shed up 10 years later. Although bleached in the sun it wasn't there more than a year judging by the condition it is in and that I picked it up in a field that is farmed annually. I just thought I'd share this with you as I thought it was something pretty interesting. Just a note the 5 point sides score in the mid 60's. Now it's seven years later, and I'm still trying to find another one. I know there are a number of mature deer in this area, so I'd be really neat to come across one more to match these, to bad the odds are against it, LOL.
