When do buck shed there antlers?

When do buck shed there antlers most offen? I am going to try and find some this spring. I have never found a shed before so any advice will be helpful.

some start in Jan. and some as early as Dec. but the best time we go is mid-late may, that way you know almost all have shed

One of Ty's buddies found a 90 inch fresh dropped shed this year-another friend brought a 188 n.t wolf kill to school today.

It all depends where you live. Up here in Ontario, they start shedding late december-early January. However my uncle shot an 8-pointer this past weekend, and when the deer fell it knocked one antler off when his head hit a small tree. And when he went to drag it over to the 4-wheeler, he pulled on the other antler and it pulled right off. It has been cold for this time of year up here, so maybe they'll start shedding earlier than normal.
