Knarly Dude: 13 Point Muley Shed

A couple weeks ago I found another shed off a buck I call Knarly Dude. It is an older shed and looks like it must be from 2000/2001. I was stoked to see the big dropper on it. Same dropper characteristic as my 2003 buck from the same area. I found it only about 150 meters from where I picked up one of his 2002/2003 sheds and about 500 meters from where I found the matched set from 2001/2002. With the knarly bases and short G4 it is easy to see it is off the same buck. I put the tape on it and only came up with a measly 96 6/8 inches. His mainbeam is exceptional at 27 inches. Cool to see he carries those long mains every year. His H1 measurement is 5 6/8. His dropper is 10 2/8.
There are at least 2 more of his sheds on that hill. I've covered it and covered it, especially since I found the 18 point shed this spring. Funny how a shed can ellude you for so long eh? Don't know if he is still alive. Have never seen him even though I have hunted the area non stop every year. It is bucks like him that keep me dreamin'.

My buddy used to work on a ranch in the Logan Lake area & found a massive fresh muley shed when he was riding one spring.I will see him sat & get a pic of it.They moved to Sask. this year to work on a big ranch here.Nice sheds!Thanx for sharing.I dont know what I'm more excited about now that hunting season is done,ice fishing or shed hunting?When should I start looking for those moose sheds here?Do they shed in Jan-Feb?

No doubt that is the same buck. The extras below the G1 all match from year to year. He just keeps growing them bigger and more of them. He carries the 27 inch main beams every year and the short G4 as well. It is funny how some bucks trash out and then loose the trash from year to year while others keep it. Here's a pic of my 2003 buck from the same area. Can see the same dropper gentic is very strong in that area. Really surprising how many dropper bucks I see every year in there.

I have several buddies that live in Logan Lake. One buddy lives and works on a big ranch there as well. Some whopper bucks in that country. Would love to see a pic of the shed. Definately looking forward to meeting up if we can over the holidays.
