You had better haev a mouthguard in when you shoot 3.5" ammo in that beast. Its a very lightweight gun. This means it will have some stout recoil.

I suggest a big (and I mean BIG) sand bag between the butt of the gun and your shoulder if you are going to shoot 3 1/2" or even 3" shells out of that gun. Being that light, it is going to kick like a couple mules.I put a sand bag between the butt of my gun and my shoulder when patterning turkey loads. Then there is ZERO recoil. I do that with my high power rifles too. In my opinion, it's the only way to sight in or pattern high recoil guns.

Did you pick up the 12GA or the 10GA model...The 10GA 3.5'er will actually kick less than the 12GA 3.5" model.
I would also be looking for an after-market recoil pad, like Simm's Limbsaver, ect. Believe everyone in here when they say it will be a punisher![]()

yep, i'd be looking for a good recoil pad for that thing if you are shootin the 3 1/2" shells outa her!![]()
I shot the monster today... i dont know if anyone is aware but it does have a decent vented recoil pad.. It shoots the 3 1/2's pretty well.. i shot the rem hevi shot outta them.. Im pretty sure a turkey will be going down.. the pattern wasnt anything specacular.. i shot it at 40 yds just to see what it would do and it only hit the head a few times.. which is still enough to bring one down.. It doesnt accept chokes either its listed as just a full choked barrel.. I dont know for a 129.00 bucks its worth its weight.
For a 3 1/2" it should do alot better at 40 yards with hevi-shot. I would expect decent patterns out to 50 yards, not just a "few" pellets. I didn't think they made barrels anymore that wouldn't accept different
chokes

on nef's website if u send your stock in they have barrels that accept different chokes.. i plan on doing that after the season.. i dont want to shoot a bird any further than 30 yds anyway really but still having that other barrel would be nice

So, why shoot 3.5" magnums for a 30 yard gun? You can still effectively kill them with 3" or even 2 3/4" ammo when choked properly.
Heck yes, my 20 ga. is effective out to 30-35 yards

Nef Makes the 10 gauge that has a screw in choke the 12 guage camo modle only has a full choke barrel. The 12 guage all black turkey modle has a screw in choke barrel and the new pump they came out with they make a turkey version that has camo stock forearm matte reciver and barrel fiber optic sights and screw in choke.I was thinking of getting the pump its only around 199.00

You can get one for $159 at Wal-Mart
new england is great we have one in 410 and they are fun to shoot and a challange win you have to do a follow up shot on a grouse. but hey i also like me nova, it shoots the 3.5's and i only been able to shoot the 3's but for geouse and every bird you want to hunt it will put the smack down on them
