try them all to see what YOUR gun likes. every gun is different. a good start is some fed barns expanders. thats just a start. thats the only down fall of getting a new gun. finding what shoots best out of it can cost you alot. might get lucky and find it before you go broke. good luck

My 20 gauge Browning Gold seems to like "Lightfield Hybrids" the best. But does reasonable well with Winchester Supreme Gold sabots too.

    Lightfield is a quality round.

Winchester 3" mag sabots work best out of my gun.

There seems to be a lot of innovation with sabots over the last few years. For instance, I've never shot the copper solids or any of the new Federal shells, you might want to give a few a try and see what patterns best. It will be pricey, but worth it.

My H&R UltraSlugmaster likes the premium Federal's, Remington Copper Solids, and Lightfield Hybrids.

I have a 16 ga. Remington 1100 smooth bore and it shoots Brenneke slugs with wicked accuracy.

My partner shoots Lightfields (the red ones) out of his Hastings rifled barrel. He can thread a needle with that gun.

I shoot Original Brennekes through my Benelli Nova smooth bore. I can't afford a rifled barrel for that puppy yet, I find though that the rifle Brenneke slugs I shoot through the smooth bore are accurate enough for the area I hunt, I won't be making any 100 yard shots where I hunt any time soon, actually, I pulled off about a 30-40 yarder last year on a doe with a bead sight and rifled slug. Put it right in the vital area. One of these days I might break down and get a rifled barrel though.

3" Winchester mag sabots seem to pattern the best for me.

I haven't bought slugs for a long time though.

littlebighorn, are you interested in our opinions? I don't see you checking. What ga. are you shooting and also can use shoot 3" shells or not ? I like the 12 ga. 3" Federal Expanders through my rifled barrel.
