Lets see, the info you give does not give much to go on. Is the barrel stamped with "Springfield Arms" Chicopee, Ma? Springfield was a lower quality gun produced by Stevens and later by Savage, who then merged with Stevens in 1920. Springfield versions of the Stevens 311 were available well into the 1970's. Sorry I can not give closer details of your gun. I may even be way off. This is my guess though.
