    Default Mossberg 935\'s

Has anyone used a Mossberg 935 much yet? I know they are fairly new guns and seemed to be pretty popular when they first came out. I thought maybe I'd give one a try for a turkey gun in the future. Just wanting to know how they've shot for you and how well they group and so on.

The 935 is a semi-auto, the 835 is a pump. The 935 is strickly designed to shoot 3" and 3 1/2" shells only, no 2 3/4" shells. I would like a 935 (either 22" or 24" barrel) Hardwoods Green HD for turkey hunting and a 835 (26" barrel) synthetic for upland game.

If I was to buy another 3.5" mag gun for turkey and/or waterfowl, it would be the 935. No question about it. It has the humongous barrel the 835 is fameous for and has a gas operation that cuts recoil. Stoke that bad boy full of Hevi Shot and you have the capability of being a turkey sniper.

That is exactly what I was thinking AJ! My brother won a 835 Hardwoods Green HD a year or so ago. The over-bored barrel on that best is really something! I picked one up and shouldered it at Gander Mountain. It seems like a pretty easy "pick and point" shotgun. Feels nice too.

I love my 835. I have had it for about 5 years and would not trade it even for a 935. I still need to shoot 2 3/4 sometimes like dove hunting and other small animal.

I know what the Mossberg manual says. They will not guarantee that the 935 will function with 2 3/4" shells. I have used mine with high brass 2 3/4" shells and they have functioned fine. The target loads or other low brass loads do not. If you use high brass 2 3/4" shells I don't think there will be an issue.

It would only be a turkey gun for me (the 935). So, all I would shoot would be 3" and 3 1/2" shells. I would like a synthetic 835 for upland birds. I can use 2 3/4" in that.

I was just logging on to ask this same question Chrud. One of my co-workers wanted an inexpensive semi-auto and I told him that I have heard good things about Mossbergs semi. How much do they usually cost??
