I own both. I have an 870 12 gauge and a 1300 12 gauge. I much prefer the action and lock up on the Winhester vs that on the Remington.

They are both good guns. The 870 is by far more popular. Pick the one that fits you the best.

You won't go wrong with the Winchester. 'Course you won't go wrong with the 870 either. I have owned / shot them both and have seen very impressive patterns from both when properly set up.

I love the 870's. No need for any other gun.

I have a couple of the winchester 1300s. I've also used the rem 870s alot. Personal preference and fit is what it's all about.

I like the Winchester action over the Remington, but like Borch said,"fit is what it's all about".

Now all you have to do is pick out a choke and load for it.

I've had very good results with my 1300's with the Hastings .665 turkey choke and the Tru Glo Strut Stopper in .665. I've alos tried the H.S. Undertaker and it shoots very well but only with #6 shot in my guns. Plus I know a few guys using comp-n-choke in their's with good results. Every gun is different but here's a place to start.

That is a hard choice....Id have to say the Rem though. I just really think they are a quality shotgun.
