    Default Read the whole Bible?

How many of you have read the Bible from cover to cover?? And was it the King James verzion , NIV or some other version??

I am sad to admit that I have not read the whole thing. But I'd like to. I've heard that if one wants to....then they shouldn't read straight thru from Genesis to Revelations. That seems dumb to me. Why wouldn't you read from the beginning to the end???

just mix it up with about 3 chapters of the old testament and about half a chapter of the new testament every day, and yes start at the beginning of each. KJV & NIV for me , and NLT for , Kim

I have started reading through a couple of times but never finished. I need to commit to it again and do it.

Many of the "read through the entire Bible" schedule have you read some in the OT and some in the NT in order to finish in a year. The other reason for NOT reading from Genesis to Revelation would be because it isn't in cronological order.

Not yet. I'm plugging away at the New Testament now.......beginning to end......except I already read Revelation. Have read some of the Old Testament.....chapter here, chapter there. Some of it is pretty stoic reading.

That's actually a great idea Steve. I have it on CD. Maybe I'll go through it that way.

Buckee, I know what you mean. My wife got me this Bible for Christmas this year. It is called a Go Bible and it looks like an Ipod. The whole Bible is on this thing and there are several options. You can pick any verse to listen to or you can pick a story of the Bible to listen to. It also has a read the Bible in a year feature on it! I have been doing it and going to go through it that way. I have read most of it before, just never all the way through. Oh yea that would be NIV!

That sounds pretty cool. I'll have to check into the Go Bible.

Not sure if it's available on cd but you could also check out the Good News Bible. It's an even easier translation.

Pretty darn close over the years, it seems. Some of the old testament is tough for me to concentrate.
