IBO-NFAA????

Im am very interested in shooting competitivley. From what I know IBO is just 3d, please correct me if I'm wrong, and it seems from what Ive seen that NFAA is shot at 3 or 5 spot targets. Any info on where to start, I have a friend that shoots NFAA but is away at college and is taling me into getting info. any help would be great.
