Crystal is definately better, because it's louder and with the right striker it will work if it gets wet.

I would go with the primos power crystal. I have one and like it real well.

I have one of the freak frictionite calls that I would sell if you're interested.

I'd say buy 3 or 4 and a bunch of strikers. I've got 3 slates and always seem fall back on my old black widow. Love that thang!

I have the Power Crystal and love the sounds I can make with it. I had the Freak but sold it to a member on here about a month ago. You can get both Frictionite and Power Crystal calls that will strap to your leg if you want. Primos offers both. To me for a call under $20.00 its well worth it.

For windy days the Power Crystal tends to wake up the woods and carries very well. Problem is sometimes you can't always hear the old Tom gobble back as the wind carries his sound as well.

Either one you get is a great choice. Good luck this season.

I cant really tell you what the BEST IS! The only thing that determines that is the bird that comes in!

You need a VARIETY of calls! dont just settle with one and be done!

Buy a couple calls and lot of different strikers! THEN you will have a TON of calls! Each call with a Different striker will make a different sound!

I have prolly about 15 different slates along with 20/30 different strikers!
