    Default One Decoy?

Hey guys just got back from GOOD OLD WALMART!!! Got all my new stuff, pants, jacket, hat, pretty decent ground blind and a new box call(old one got SAT on!). Well I was looking over the decoys and picked up a single "Ultimate Hot Hen". The decoy is a good looking hen, but I was wondering since I have never hunted with decoys before... is it ok to have just one decoy? I know most setups should be at least a hen and a jake for intimidation but is one hen better than nothing? Or is it more then enough to take the attention from me. (bow hunting)

In my experience I have use 1 from time to time and have taken birds with only 1 decoy before. Situations are always changing. May work sometimes and others it might not. Hope this helps some.

Common spring set ups have several decoys, (hen and a jake), and since gobblers will jealously fight for hens, the early season is a good time for a hen and an aggressive jake. This set up often causes a tom to drop his guard and come in with more resolve.
If I decoy in the fall, I just like to use 2 hens. The original point though, (is one enough?), is...yes...but each situation may require different strategies. Let us know how it goes!
