    Default SURPLUS TAG REJECT

    Well I waited in line for an hour and a half trying to get a surplus tag in Minnesota since I didn't get picked.. The tag drawing went through 5pm central time and I got my info punched in at 5:04pm for two zones (I was second in line) and didn't get either one (there was a total of 19 tags left between the two zones) I am already leaving April 9th for a Merriam hunt in the Black Hills but still what a let down The guy ahead and behind me got their zones they wanted.... I guess it just wasn't meant to be this year....

    I sure Hope you get a Tag next year! I know your wanting to chase them birds around pretty bad!

    That stinks!! I'm glad I dont live in a state where I have to worry about that. I dont know what I would do without my turkey hunting.

    Oh no! I was thinking the surplus drawing was this afternoon. My two girls aren't gonna be happy with me.

    Hey Borch.. I thought was the 15th too till I got a list of the leftover tags to see what was available.. I guess at Gander Mountain in Maple Grove people were lined up there since like 2pm... I don't understand the whole surplus deal I think if they have left over tags they should go out to those who didn't get any... Can you tell I am bitter?

    I hear you there paintbrush... I AM BITTER... And my Dad saw turkeys on the zone I tried 241 and 246.. The time period didn't matter to me-I would of taken any of them.

    That's too bad Heather. Hopefully your luck will change when you go to the Black Hills chasing those Merriams!

    Reading posts about people not getting drawn for tags really makes me feel so fortunate to hunt a state that doesn't require tags and has fairly liberal bag limits.
