.670 #4 lead
.665 #5 lead
.660/.655 #6 lead
That is just a general suggestion. If you are going to use #4 or #5 then I would go with the .665 and if shooting #6 then go with the .655
good luck

thanks dogdoc. does it make any differance if im shooting 3 or 3 1/2 inch? im shooting a 3 inch federal flight controle wad 2 oz #5. what should i expect to get as far as pattern
Kick's Gobbling Thunder and Comp-N-Choke choke tubes are made by the same company. I have a Comp-N-Choke .655 and it shoots really good. My hunting buddy just got the Kick's GT but we haven't patterned it yet. He got it in .655 also. I would say the .655 would be the route to take. We will shoot this weekend. I will give you an update on how his Kick's GT does. Oh yeah, we both have 870's
I have a kicks .655 that I used with my benelli, now going to use it with my Franchi 912. Anyway Kicks told me this diam. choke will pattern the best with #6 shot. Also to shoot no more than 2oz of shot unless your gun is backbored. I had a nice pattern with my Nova 118 in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards with winchester supreme #6 3.5inch. With the #5 3.5 inch fed. and the winchester supreme #5 3.5 inch around 90-95 hits at 40 yards. I talked with a guy at kicks yesterday he told me a .665 would pattern # 5 much better than the .655. also that a 3 inch may shoot a better pattern than a 3.5 inch. to try both. Now I'm waiting for a nice day to pattern my new gun I have all the shells to try.Hope this helps.
I would suggest a kicks .655 i shoot 3.5" 2 1/4oz loads just fine, with 4 5 and 6 shot. Great choke thats for sure its outta a rem 11-87.
I've killed many turkeys with a Kick's GT choke tube in .665 constriction with Winchester Supreme 3 1/2" #5s. It was used in a Benelli SBE. Just remember that the choke is not approved for Hevi-shot if you ever choose to use it.
I agree with dogdoc's post!! The .665 choke restriction is the most popular of the bunch, especially with shooting #5's.![]()
If you're shooting #5's and leaning toward #4's as an alternative try the .665".
If you're shooting #5's and leaning toward #6's as an alternative (which I would recommend), then try the .655" tube.
I have been using the Kick's GT .665 for about 2 or 3 years now. I like the choke, it patterns well. I shoot 5's or 4x6 duplex loads in 3 inch.
Remember, #4's will hit the hardest, but there isn't as many pellets inside the shell compared to the other two. While #6's have the most shot inside per Oz, they still don't hit as hard as #5's or #4's!!!
I'd personally go with #5's and get the best of both worlds. Better energy levels than #6's and better patterns than #4's!!
