My 15 year old son called in his first longbeard today. He's killed several birds and called in a few jakes, but today was the real deal. He did all the calling on a Knight&Hale split V diaphram. All I did was a little coaching. He brought him to 15 yards. About the bird 10 1/4" beard 1 1/8 spurs 22 1/4 pounds. He never wiggled after he cut loose on him with a 4x5x7 Nitro heavy shot out of a Benelli with a Rhino choke. This day was a very rewarding and memorable hunt for me, I hope it was the same for him. I wish for everyone to experience what I did today.

WTG!!!! I'm taking my Nephew out on NY's youth hunt later this month, on the 23rd & 24th of April!! I can't wait, he blew a chance on a gobbler last spring, and ended up taking a jake the next morning. But this year, it's a mature bird for sure!!!
