GOT ONE!!

I got me a big ole' gobbler. My first bird and man im proud of him, pics coming. Went Saturday and got there at about 4, an hour before daylight to get setup and get everything perfect. Set up my ground blind the day before around a few old trees with some brush piled up against it.

Me and my hunting partner went out and got in the blind, daylight came and they came off roost and started gobbling like crazy. We couldn't call a gobbler in, so i took someone's advice on here and everytime the hen would call, i would interupt her, i rekon that set her off and she was on her way up the hill to check out what kinda competition she had. Right as she tops the hill to my decoys the two gobblers pop out behind her, and see my decoys and go into full strut. I pick the gobbler that looks the biggest and line up my sights with his head, BANG, and i have a dead bird. My buddy at that time was laying down in the blind calling a bit for me, the other gobbler just kinda stood there so i tapped my buddy on the shoulder and told him to pop up and take the other bird, he did and killed him.

Both were very nice birds, my bird was: Weight-25Lbs, Beard-10 & 1/4, Spurs-1 & 1/4, he was a bronze back. My friends bird was : Weight-22Lbs, Beard-10 & 1/2, Spurs- One was 1/2 inch and the other was 1 inch. He was also a bronze back. I shot mine at 20 yards and my friend shot his at 10!!!

That was my first turkey, the call i used to bring in the birds was The Freak W/ Crystal. Two quality TN. birds bagged within 30 seconds of each other, perfect setup and a perfect morning. I'm getting the fan, beard, and the feet mounted. Hope yall are having a good as season as me. Good luck.

IT was awesome, there isn't anything like your first. To hear a gobbler thundering in the woods is a treat for me, i love it when they respond to my call.
