    Default Help with turkey behaviour

Hey guys im relatively new to turkey hunting, I hunted a few times last season and got a bird, but I am positive it was just luck, with the weather and all not on my side. Well, yesterday I went out by myself for the enitre day and I had a few gobblers within 250 yards or closer and one within 150 that I could see gobbling down the edge of the field. I called to him, but I think I may have made the mistake of telling him that I was the one comming. Anyways, I mimicked a hen and next thing I know, she snuck up to within thirty feet of me. I just couldn't get the gobblers to come in. Hens were everywhere kee keeing and the gobblers loved it AND my calls, just wouldn't come in.
Should I try not calling so much, and try more to entice a gobbler to come to me rather than just hitting him with everything I have? (p.s. it was a rainy, stormy and windy day on that hunt) Any input helps, thanks

When it starts to rain make sure you get right to the field turkeys wont be in the woods if its raining....if you can figure out where they are coming from you can get in front of them and set up on the edge....use a few cutts and purrs to immitate a hen already in the field feeding....thats what worked for me last weekend! good luck!

Gobblers don't like to come to anything when they are in the fields. They just tend to strut and display out in the middle. You need to find out where they enter the field and set up there and wait. I wouldn't call either until maybe the last minute when you feel they are leaving another way.
