About LinkBacksGot #2 this morning about 7:30. Heard them on the roost and my buddy knew in what tree they were roosting, so we set up and began with some tree yelps. We saw them fly down, and they were fired up!!! Gobbled a lot! Wasn't happening though, so we stalked around in a creek and finally got close to him. There were hens all over! in the trees and everything! Not sure how we didn't get picked off, but anyway, popped up out of the creek, saw a hens head, then a toms.....buddy yelling "shoot" (well....whispering loudly) so I took the shot. Ended up being a 48 yard shot!!!
But, it put him in the bag, so I guess that's what counts.
That makes 2 for me! Good luck to the rest of y'uns...I'll be trying to fill that last tag......
